Menopause and You
Sobel Family Medicine is happy to announce the introduction of our menopause program. Many of our female patients have requested information about menopause and its effects on the body, so, after much thought, we've designed a program that will help our patients know what to expect. Annual Female Physical Examination Includes:
- Blood pressure
- Pulse
- Height
- Weight
- Skin Exam
- Complete blood count
- Cholesterol profile
- Urine analysis
- Electrocardiogram
- Chest x-ray if warranted
- Pap smear. All women who are or have been sexually active or have reached age 18 should have an annual Pap smear and pelvic examination.
- Breast examination
- Mammogram (Women ages 35 to 39 baseline, women ages 40 to 49 once every few years, and women 50 and over every year).
- Health counseling and cancer checkup (Women over age 20 every three years, over age 40 every year). The cancer checkup includes examina-tion for cancers of the thyroid, ovaries, lymph nodes, oral region, and skin.
